There is nothing quite like a cold drink and a chat in the fresh air to lift the spirits. Recently, our residents enjoyed a fantastic Mobile Pub Day right in the comfort of our own gardens. With the sun shining and wartime classics playing in the background, the afternoon was filled with laughter and feel-good vibes.
Creating these unique, social experiences is a key part of our person-centred care. It’s about more than just an activity; it’s about bringing people together, sparking conversations, and making every day feel special. Whether it’s a “shandy in the sun” or a quiet moment in the greenery, these are the memories that make life at Fairways so vibrant.
Resident Spotlight:
Meet Vicki, her story is one of adventure, from rambling up Snowdon to caravanning through the Cotswolds and Italy. Born in Manchester, Vicki moved to Llanberis after marrying the love of her life - a partnership that has now flourished for over 60 years. Her heart remains in Aberdaron, the beautiful spot where they first met. Today, while living with dementia at Glyn Menai, Vicki continues to live life to the full. Supported by our specialist team, she enjoys daily walks and outings with her husband, revisiting the local places that have shaped their lives together. We feel incredibly privileged to support Vicki’s journey, ensuring she stays connected to the music, movement, and outdoors that she loves so much.

Meet Hannah, Our Kitchen Manager Some people don’t just cook; they care through their cooking. That person is Hannah. Since joining us in 2024, Hannah’s journey has been nothing short of inspiring. Moving from Kitchen Assistant to Kitchen Manager across both Ceris Newydd and Glyn Menai, she has become the heart of our specialist homes. Hannah’s homemade cakes are legendary - turning birthdays and afternoon teas into daily celebrations. But she doesn't stop at the kitchen door; she regularly hosts baking days with our residents, turning mealtimes into moments of joy and connection. Hannah truly embodies our commitment to tailored care, ensuring that every plate served brings a smile to our residents' faces.
