About Ty Cariad

Ty Cariad is one of the newest, most modern, and most highly developed dementia care environments in North Wales. Located in Abergele, Ty Cariad comprises four households of 12 people living with dementia. Every household is designed to provide full security with maximum freedom by way of discrete safety features, hi-tech monitoring, and an integrated computer system.

Comfortable, café style dining areas are enhanced with open access client kitchens. Circulation areas have memory stations and street style shop fronts. Each household has its own gardens and patios for gardening activities and interaction with nature. As with our other dementia care environments, the assistance of Professor Bob Woods of the Dementia Services Development Centre at Bangor University was used to advise on layout and design of the home.

Ty Cariad offers a happy, homely environment with a team of dedicated staff who go over and above to meet resident needs. The home offers a person-tailored care, with the understanding each person has their own specific needs and preferences to ensure each resident lives a fulfilling and happy life.
